If you have issues over the holiday weekend with your boat lift, below are a few helpful tips:
If you have a motor or switch acting up or is in need of replacement, give us a shout as we will extend better discounts to you guys. Also if you haven't replaced your cables in over 3 years you might look into doing this, you don't want to snap a cable.
** If you have issues during the holiday weekend, email me at michael@boatliftdistributors.com & I will try & troubleshoot over the phone. If I can get your lift working over the phone & you catch a bunch of fish b/c of this, I'd be more than happy to help you consume some of those filets. **

- If the motor won't run test the electrical flow before & after the switch, if you get an interruption in voltage then you've got a switch problem, if voltage is good then it's the motor. Whichever is giving you trouble (switch or motor), unplug from the power source & open up the component. Clear out any debris & clean contacts, hopefully this will get you going.
- If the motor runs but stalls as it clears the water, check the tension of the drive belt. If the drive belt is too tight it won't be able to pick up your boat, simply loosen. Obviously if you loosen too much it will just sit there & spin, that's no good.
- GFCI won't stay on & keeps throwing power to the lift. In this case you'll need a new GFCI to operate the lift, without this the lift is unsafe & could injure or kill someone. I've heard people say they've bypassed the GFCI to operate the unit in an emergency situation but I can NOT indorse this, it just isn't
safe.
