We had a little accident and punched a hole in the side of one of our jet skis. Does anybody do mobile fiberglass repair? I really don't want to have to resurrect the trailer to take it to somebody. It's in a sling on Tiki Island. Thanks.
I've been trying to get Jet Ski Joe to sign up as a sponsor here on FishWestEnd. I'll send you his contact information so you can call him & ask if he can do that repair.
He maintains our Waverunners on the Island, pulls them out of water, tops of with gas, washes them etc. I'm not sure if he does fiberglass repair or anything like that.
There's a mobile marine mechanic out of Sea Isle, I am completely blanking on his name though...
Whomever you call should be able to do the repair on-site assuming you want to pay for that service.
Grind back the damaged part, fill void with spray foam, surform the foam down, and marine tex the cr*p out of it, sand flush out to 400 grit compound and polish!
I'm with Kenny - I might DIY such as with some Bondo and a plastic body knife. They make several full repair kits ... I've done bullet holes - don't ask why. But Bondo has worked for me. Takes several steps and it's all in the prep, a grind to get the loose stuff out, sand the area around it with 60 grit, fill, smooth, sand some more, repeat to fare it out, etc. Does the stringer look OK?
