  • Recommendation for a less crowded boat ramps around Freeport to San Luis Pass

A few you have seen my posts about the 14ft Mckee Craft CC I bought 2 weeks ago. I had to go through the carbs and some other things. I'm going to take it out tomorrow to cruise it around and maybe do some fishing.

What are some good boat ramps in the Surfside/Freeport/San Luis area that won't be too crowded and have some water around them I can open the motor up. The only one I know of is the one right at the pass next to the KOA.

I'm trying to find a less crowded boat ramp just encase I back the trailer down and have any mechanical issues with the motor. I don't want to piss anyone off holding up the line.

The guy I bought the boat from was just telling me he puts his boat in there. I've never put it over there. Seems like a decent spot to try out. Any fish around there?

There are 3 ramps on bastop bayou. Bastrop marina Marlins across the bayou and the public ramp under the bridge. The public ramp under the fm2004 bridge is a good ramp but I don't know how crowded it is on the weekends. There is also the ramp on Blue Water hwy by Swan lake.

If I put in at Bastrop Marina, where do yall think would be a good spot to fish tomorrow? Go down to the north side of Christmas? Or the North side of Bastrop? There's some shell over there right?

I've kayaked through Titlum Tatlum but never been through it on a boat. Any thing I need to watch out for in there? I know coming out of it at the pass gets shallow in a hurry if you're too close to the south side of the opening.
