  • Someone Tried to Steal My Excursion/Boat Trailer

Not on the West End but some of you'll might want to be aware of this problem up around San Jacinto Monument area. Posted this on 2cool but in case you don't frequent that site be aware of this problem.
Fished the Galveston Redfish Series today and we launched out of Riverside Inn Marina up by the monument. Had our 2 reds (not a winning stringer) but got back to the launch and someone had tried to steal my Excursion/boat trailer. They drilled out the ignition and pulled out a bunch of wires under the console. Luckily they didn't get. I can't imagine if I had come back to find my whole rig gone. Had to wait for my husband to come rescue us before we could get the boat out of the water. They had turned my headlights on so the battery had run down. Neither the turn signals or the a/c works now. Police said it was a really bad area. Needless to say, didn't get to weigh-in our fish. Trip to the insurance company Monday.

That's a bad area for sure, these days. When I was a kid(long, long ago) my family would go the the San Jacinto Monument area every Sunday afternoon for a picnic. We lived just off of South St in Pasadena, so we were close. I'm not sure that would be a good idea nowadays.

Sorry to hear they screwed up your truck, but glad they didn't get it.
