I spent a few days fly fishing east of the border last weekend. The food was good. The company was great. The fishing was incredible. Together we boated over 40 fish on the trip. Almost all of our fish were over 35″, including 10 fish that were between 40-43″. Everyone caught their personal best redfish on fly.

This is the reason I fish Louisiana as much or more than I fish Texas. It takes me about an hour and a half longer to be on Calcasieu than it does to be on Galveston Bay - and most days it is worth it. My buddy over at Hackberry has been picking up reds on the fly from alongside the road. Yep - driving his truck and spotting schools right there in the gut running beside the road. Pull over and pull 'em out.

And that Louisiana food.... Oh yeah.
