Do you have a choke or primer bulb, that sounds like your problem, cheap lawnmowers use a primer bulb if that gets a hole in it you will have the problem you discribe,If choking it wont get it started, try a good clean up of the carb may help you! If it has no choke, place palm over intake to choke and see if that gets it started, trash on inlet side clean with carb cleaner spray in can!West Bay Sensai...

Rustys on the right track,I thought you were talking bout a cheap walk behind mower The engines on the newer bigger engines have fuel cut off solinoid in carb bowl It has a power lead to it you cant miss it! on that engine it still has a choke see if that is working properly,If you cant get it figured out an hour or 2 at the local lawnmower shop should save ya a lot of heartache when you pour gas on it ,It backfires and burns down yer shop!I know that unit is still worth fixing properly!Originally posted by Rusty S View PostWhat kind of mower is it? If it is fairly new and has a fuel cut off solenoid on the carburetor bowl, that could be sticking, that or the metering rod gasket/needle & seat is leaking by and losing pressure.West Bay Sensai...
