You think maybe they mined our email addys from the site Coe? Just wondering. Not blaming anyone. It's nothing but a little inconvenience anyway. Since I've gotten home, I have gotten over 50 more. Just takes a few clicks of the mouse.

Not sure, but I have deleted over 20 new users today and have been banning IP Addresses all day...
I might have to stop allowing registration for awhile until we can sort this mess out... I have already automatically moderated all new users so they require my consent to post but that doesn't solve the registration problem and me having to delete users...
Looks like Shad is having the same problem with spammers on his board. My email issues are likely unrelated to the sites. I was just spit-ballin' ideas. I've gotten 50 more since I last posted! I wonder how many I'll have when I wake up in 5 hours? Maybe we should have a pool. How many spam messages in Sandy's email by the end of work tomorrow. $5 a square, proceeds go to a keg at the first meeting I make it to. LOL!

Tiny- I got the boat in a warehouse here in Houston... I have to get a Master Electrician to certify my electrical, have him call the Galveston Inspector for them to come out and make sure its ok to turn on the power to our residence...
My buddy brought his shoalwater down and took it for a spin around the West End, more scouting and salvaging really...
The site got a lot of web traffic post hurricane Ike because everyone was wanting to see pictures of the destruction of Galveston that you so nicely provided everyone with. Unfortunately there is a price that comes with being noticed. Spammers notice you too and decide to tie up your forums with their crappy spam advertisements for Viagra and whatnot.
I am an internet marketer, however. I don't mind sponsored advertisements from local Texas businesses wishing to promote their products to people who might have an interest - such as coupons for the local bait shops, restaurants, handymen who would wish to advertise their services to help clean up the mess, etc... these type of advertisers would be welcomed here and could help pay to support the operation of the West End Angers events.
Those are my thoughts on the subject. Perhaps after banning and IP blocking each spammer you will eventually wear them out.
