surf rod question?

I have asked for a penn lever drag for Christmas this year and I hoping it shows. If I get it, I plan to use it for fishing from piers and the sand on a surf rod. It is the 60 model, the biggest they make. I plan to put 40 lb mono on it if it shows. What is a good surf rod for around 100 bucks. No more than 120. I don't have the money for a custom, nor do I have the patience to save up for one. What are some good ones? Tica? Ugly stick? FTU brand? I plan to buy it from FTU.
