About 10 to 20 bucks a pound dressed whole, is usually dockside Eastern Seaboard prices. Most of what we get is B-grade and very little is "toro" of the highest quality, although a few are sold every year for big bucks. Depends on the fat content. You might get a shot at a "toro" up in PEI.

The high prices on the Tokyo Austin is when they sell to retailers, not wholesale buyer's price from the fisherman, and the first auction after the New Year they always bid up the best looking tuna on the floor. It's a tradition that involves lots of saki, whiskey, and foolishness.
