Just go to Academy. The packages say what size boat each size sock is good for.

If I remember, there is only one brand. If you want to coonarse engineer it, just tie a few buckets on a line and drop them overboard. I've seen that done my whole life. Never heard of a drift sock 'til I moved to Texas. LOL!

Get one in the 40" range and depending on the wind you may want 2 socks.

I thought for sure you would include a recommendation for a float in case he decides to untie the sock and leave the drift for a few minutes.

I will recommend a float on the line in case the sock flies out of the back of the boat while he is chasing birds in East Bay.
