  • Another Carnival Nightmare

Another Carnival cruise liner is experiencing problems with its propulsion system amid reports of power outages and overflowing toilets while docked in the Caribbean, one month after a fire crippled the Carnival Triumph in the Gulf of Mexico.

Sounds like sensationalism over a busted backup generator. But time will tell.
From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

      Re: Another Carnival Nightmare

I hate cruises....I like to go somewhere, kick back, and go at my own pace versus being set to a schedule. This just gives me one more reason to not do them. Only exception in cruises...I wouldn't mind doing one of the Euro river cruises.

I agree with FoF. Why in the world would I want to be on a floating hotel with 4000 people, full of Norovirus, expensive booze, stuck and can't leave and worst of all-NO FISHING OFF STERN ALLOWED!!!

I hate tourist traps and it is one giant tourist trap. I'd rather fly somewhere, rent a car, rent a boat and do whatever I want.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

I guess I don't understand why they can't keep the diesels running. There are 6 of them and the ship is over-powered as can be, packing some 75,000 kW - nearly 100,000 HP. It should be able to function with two engines for the prop system and two for house load. The last mess-up was caused by a small part known as a high pressure fuel return line, which leaked and caught fire. This one seems to be a similar diesel engine problem. I've been in the engine room of the cruise ships and they're state of the art, so I don't understand why they can't do some simple diesel engine repairs.
