  • Thoughts on 2001 70 hp Johnson

We are looking at a boat with a 2001 70 hp Johnson. Is this a good motor? Does this have any of the notorious problems such as FICHT? The owner says it's bulletproof. Thanks!

He's probably levelin with ya, but you could run it to a shop and get mechanical evidence as to what shape its in,compression test etc. That is a great engine when in good operational shape!

Thanks! Any more feedback? Also, we are probably about to put a little 13 foot Boston Whaler on the market.

Actualy all the 2001 70HP's are carbed motors, they didnt have FICHT motor in that size. Good Motors.
