  • 51/52MR Mirrolure Question

Has anyone noticed that the damn rattles in these bait freeze up after the first time you use it? Whats up with that? 1 out of 5 will actually have a good rattle system in it that won't lock up on you...the rest go to hell quick.

They just don't make em like they use to.

51 and 52 mirrolures are some of my favorites. I don't think any of mine have a rattle in them but I bought them back in the 80's before the technology, I guess. They're full of scars but a hook change and alcohol on a wash cloth tends to bring them back to life. One of the best baits for the buck I've ever found.

I bought 8 new ones at the end of last year, and two have working rattles after being used 3 times. Crying shame.

Quality so poor you would think they were made in China. Almost $7 a pop too, but got damn they can catch fish in the right hands.

Someone should file a Class Action Lawsuit against MirroLure for false advertising, defective product, loss of trophy fish and loss of consortium under the DTPA and put those folks outta bizness.

Personally, I think rattles are for babies-be a MAN, use live bait and ya won't have to worry about whether that lure tracks properly or doesn't rattle right or was wrong color.

Be a man and use live bait?? LOL, my buddy puts a live shrimp on for his 3 yr old daughter to catch fish. Nope were out to fool them not feed them. Plastics or hard baits in my rig. Too funny.

Shrimp fattens em up. Plastics are like drinking a Lite Beer-less filling and fewer calories!!

I agree with Harvey, all of mine are non-rattle baits. (Old) Not the MR series, but as was also said in the right hands and conditions they catch fish. I guess they are quite and sneak up on the fish. I sure do like them in the surf!

.....unscrew the hooks and the attachment on the front and seal them with some silicone.

Or beat the crud out of them with your tackle box before you cast. Surf yes!
