    So...

Nancy (my wife) and I have a rare event - a free Sunday in the the Galveston Bay area.

    Thinking of:

    1: Chocolate Bayou (NFIC!)
    2. South Jetty
    3. Campbell Bayou / Swan Lake
    4. Green's Bayou
    5. ???

    I'm listening for suggestions....

I'd say come on out to BR's, but I'll be gone. Water has been LOW everywhere, and very dirty here at the Pass if that helps ya make a decision. We had a Winter low tide the last 2 days at SLP.

Fished Nick's Lake. Had a blast.

We started out at the Surfside north jetty. Nothing at all going on. Cruised up the ditch and Nick's looked like the place to be. Constant action in the entrance to Nick's on the incoming tide. Trout, reds, croaker, and lots of sheepies. The bite stopped around 1:30 when the tide turned.

I am patient. It ain't necessarily about the catching, it's about the fishing. Nancy isn't quite that way. She really likes it when the catching is on - and it was on. We boated somewhere around 30 fish - hardly had time to drink.

Sunday was nice - temps and humidity had dropped quite a bit from Friday/Saturday. Blue skies, light breeze, cold adult beverages, and fish after fish. I forgot to mention that we also landed a few black drum.

We were the only boat in sight.

First time fishing Nick's - but not the last.
