Yeah I got a small dose of it, wasn't too bad though. There's two kinds, regular Vibrio which is real common, and Vibrio Vulnificus which is real bad - and very rare. I got the first kind. It still ate a 50-cent piece of my calf, though. Kinda like getting bit by a brown recluse which wasn't fun either.
Two ways to get it ... a wound even a scratch like I did wade fishing, or eating something like oysters. Have to catch it quick because it'll poison your blood. Older folks and those in poor health tend to suffer the worst. Folks like me wait until it turns swelled and nasty purple and the doctor gets to chew you out - but good!
