  • Bonefish

I waded a flat near here this morning looking for bones. Found 'em.

This one was 27 inches, 8 and a half pounds. It ran pretty far in to my backing twice, and took 6 and a half minutes to land. I had my GoPro going, but discovered too late that the inside was fogged up, so the video is very poor - not worth taking the time to upload.

It is a little bit larger than the average bone here. I have seen one that was 34 inches, 15 pounds - but it was a totally unworthy catch. The guy caught it bottom fishing with cut bait while eating dinner - not even minding his rod. He was about 50 feet from his fishing rod when the bone took the bait.

                              Bonefish

A Bone that size is definitely a trophy, even in the Caribbe! Bet that was a smokin' run from that badboy too. I never quite understood why bonefish were such a big deal untll I caught my first one. Amazingly fast across a flat.
Congrats on a catch I can only dream about.
