  • WARNING - 17 beaches in Galveston under advisory for high bacteria

Our subdivision is on the list, which means do not come here to fish the surf Seriously, be smart and don't go in there if you have open wounds! http://www.khou.com/home/17-Galvesto...221580011.html

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like the west end is in bad shape.

Headed for East Matagorda this weekend. Might have to look out for elevated levels of cow poop down there! Seriously though, not something that bodes well for Galveston this holiday weekend.

I just checked the Texas Beach Watch site (http://www.texasbeachwatch.com/) and they only show one warning on the West End. The website does not have a date or time on it but they reportedly sample every day after an advisory so there should be more test results from those reported on Thursday.

OK, i just checked the site again and those samples were from Aug 27 in the morning. The story on the higher levels appears to have come out Aug 28. So we are still waiting for the latest samples.
