Took two of them over from another outfit that wasn't going to have them anymore. Very popular tourneys - winter trout fishing rocks!

Yes sir, the big trout guys like fishing these tournaments because the only cost that comes out of entry fees are for t-shirts, plaques and weigh master. The rest of the money is all paid back out to 1st - 5th and then the two side pot winners for heavy trout.

With around 40 anglers at each event last year for November & December the payout was close to $2,000 for 1st place. You'll see many more this year as our tournaments gain popularity and angler are able to plan for them in advance.

Winter trout fishing does rock...the big ones are out and most of the anglers are not! I'm sitting here looking at my 5th place FWE Winter Trout Tournament Plaque from 12.8.12, proudly displayed in my home office. Still the only time I've been paid for fishing! We almost wet waded this tourney last year, I think the water temp was around 72...you never know what kind of weather you're going to get with a southeast Texas winter.

As a flounder fisherman by trade, I suggest a flounder round up for the Sea Center in Lake Jackson. They are always in need of brewed stock and I know y'all all are conservationists.... When it comes to trophy trout, but the southern flounder needs some love too.

Lol, me, WEA, and beachbumbailey were gonna round up some years back. Brought gigging lights and nets. Even was gonna build a pen in the shallows to fatten em up for the weigh-in. Cold front blew us out but we made a bonfire on the beach and all was well

I think we were attempting to round up with the help of Treadway (muddskipper) and using his permit.

The bonfire was perfect. Beer was cold too!

I updated the 2014 Winter Trout II date just so we don't conflict with the Spectacular Series. We try hard to work with local tournament organizers to reduce the number of overlapping tournaments.
