Recommended Taxidermist in Katy/Houston Area?

Howdy all,

I went whitetail hunting in Mexico the weekend before last and ended up with a nice 12 pt. that scored around 150. I'm looking for a recommend on a good taxidermist in the Katy/Houston area to do a shoulder mount for me. Any suggestions? I'm not originally from this area and wanted some first hand recommendations/testimonials. Thanks!

Creative feathers on 45 in La Marque, if he's still there. Kinda far from you but he did three trophy trout for me over the years and does beautiful work.

He can be expensive but Brush Country Studios has become the "go to" for most of the safari hunters and such. He is the one of the best in in Texas. Studio is about 5 miles off 290 now I think. I know that my friend Michael Fulweber runs big whitetail hunts now and he would also know some names…look up Boatlift Distributers and give him a call...

Bob Wilkins in Cameron Texas is worth the drive up 36 and sounds like you have a nice trophy.
I've seen his work on my SIL's Elk and also his Whitetails, Ring Tailed cat, and Bobcats.
He won't consider anyone else. Takes about a year on most of his stuff but well worth the wait.
