  • Any bites today?

We started out at 6:30 about four miles out on the Texas City Dike fishing the right side as you go out and got nothing. Then we went to the floodgate at Moses Lake and no one their had gotten any bites either.

We're taking a lunch break now but any tips on where to go after? I figure we might try the left side of the dike near the boat ramps as the tide comes in this afternoon.

Since your in the area, there is a reef there off Skyline Dr., the shoreline juts out to a point coming from Boyds right before that house....I usually get in just about where the 2 pipelines enter the water and work out, and towards floodgates.....good luck (good hard bottom)

You may want to check out Mosquito island at the base of the dike if the tides coming in .

Park on skyline by the lone palm tree on your right as you approach the wind surfing area. Tie on a 808 mirrolure and walk straight out about 200 yards fan casting the water in front of you. Turn right and head towards the dike for a couple hundred yards and then back towards the rocks on the shoreline. Fish out from the rocks on the way back to your vehicle and you should et a bite or two. Good luck!

Right on wrong I'm boatless and I figured it would be worth a try.

This site is for discussions about fishing, not small parts of your anatomy.

As you can probably tell, I don't know much about the bay. If you've got a recommendation for a muddy/shell place that is accessible by road, I'd appreciate it.

the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.
