  • Are there any places with fishable crappie places around Alvin area?

I live in Pearland and I would like to try and catch some crappie over spring break. I have a kayak so I am not limited to bank fishing. Just trying to find some close to home...

Chocolate Bayou. Launch at HWY 35 and head to the bay. Fish along any of the small drops and along the brush. That bayou can make any kind of fisherman look like a hero.

Go to one of these fancy neighborhoods and check out there ponds/lakes.

I always find some before I get ran off. Makes it eventful dodging the HOA

Kill in' 'em around Kickapoo on Livingston if you don't mind the drive.

How safe is the launch over there off hwy 35 for chocolate bayou? Not a freshwater fisherman but I do have roadrunners from fishing my neighborhood pond. those should be good for the crappieand bass. How is the catfishing in that area? Would you eat the fish you catch there?
