  • Christmas Bay Kayak Launches west of the Pass

On saturday me and some buddies will be launching at one of the kayak launches west of the pass off of 3005. Never fished that area. Any tips? Which of the launches is the best?

While I am not a Kayaker myself, I can tell you that there are at least 4 spots SW of SLP where you can launch, with the first being on the bayside of Access 6 at the location of the old "Ernies Too" baitcamp.

The old Ernie's launch is a good one for yaks.

Very shallow out of Ernie's, but it is a great launch. Watch out for the reefs.... Rich

The canal at the old Ernie's is a good spot if you want to fish Christmas/Churchill Bayou. There's also the SLP launch if you want to do Cold Pass/Titlum-Tatlum. If you come up Titlum, stop by where you see the Stars and Bars and have a cold one.

For a flounder I'd fish churchill if I were you.

For flounder , fish the mouth of Churchill Bayou and CHRISTMAS Bay , especially the drop off on an outgoing tide .
