I have a 2011 Nautic Star with 115 4-strokes Yamaha. I did not notice until I fill up my gas today. It says no 85 or higher gas grade. I don't think any gas station carry 85 or lower any more. Do you think 87 will harm the engine overtime? I do have a water separator in the fuel line to combat ethanol. Thank you for your comments.

Note the Minimum octane requirement for the 115 HP is 89. Using lower octane gasoline may damage the engine due to preignition of the lower octane gasoline in a high compression engine. I have heard of minimum octane requirements but never maximum.Comment
