  • Video of opening day for Snapper Season 2014

I got the chance to run offshore in a friends 29' Donzi and it was epic.
3 guys equaled 6 nice sows and one keeper Ling that hit a trolled lure.
We threw back numerous nice AJ's-Boooo! And only had to deal with one shark.
If anyone can I.D. this shark I'd sure be curious to know...I'm guessing it was a Dusky
    but really have no clue.

    Enjoy.

Great video! I'm pretty sure it was a Sandbar Shark. Here is a great resource for identifying sharks put out by TPWD. They also have a trifold that is great to keep on the boat.

                        Hey thanks, all.

                        Majek-Sand Bar Shark, cool, thanks.

Yah, I checked that link and it does appear to be a Sandbar Shark. It was bigger than it looked in the video. I called it a 6 footer
But my friend Patrick thought it was closer to 7'.
One thing for sure is it had a lot of power and stamina.

Very nice video. Great fishing conditions with light winds and plenty of fish caught.
Sorry you lost one of your Rods, bet that was costly.
