  • East matagorda rentals

A friend has put together a group fishing trip yearly , usually Bay Flats Lodge in Seadrift. But for 2010, in March he's doing it on a shoestring where we will fish East Matagorda. I need a decent rental for some guys, our team of 4 at least, maybe more. Someone said FULL STRINGER REALITY has places. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks !!

    plugger,

When I fish the TroutBlast ever year in East Mat. I stay at this house: http://www.matagordatexas.com/holidayharbor28/

It is located on the last canal before the first cut into East Mat. It is a great place for the money, only $150.00 per night. It is on the water and has everything you need. James is the owner and a great guy. Good luck! Albert

I sent these rental offers off to one of the crew I'm fishing with who is the captain of our team via e-mail so we can talk it over. I have not heard form him, may be Monday or so before he gets back with me. I think I have his work e-mail, so he may not have received it or is out of town. I will check in later. I appreciate the offers.... waiting on him.

Henry, I spoke to the lodge, and when you show up to the boat show, I will intorduce you. By the time we finish our trip, you won't need another guide.

Thanks, Steve. We won't have guides on that trip. Those familiar with east matty will coach the rest. That's why I'm chomping at the bit to get in there and get a feel for the place. Besides, I've always wanted to fish both bays more anyway.. just need some help. I think HOGIE 70 will sheppard me this Sat or Sun. Looking forward to meeting him and the trip-- Watch out MICHELLE, here I come !!

Get ready for the Matagorda Mud Stomp.... You should have some fun down there, that little bay is one of the best on the Texas Coast!

And I like the fact that, like East Bay Galveston, that there is no housing around the bays... no pontoon boats, jet skies, increased traffic from easy access bay homes. Undeveloped and wild...like me !! HAR

yup, just a bunch of really nice fishermen, and women that like to run shorelines looking for trout and reds. That and the wind are the two toughest parts of fishing Matagorda. Not so bad in the dead of winter, but the fall can be tough on a weekend.
