I'd figure a pound per person. Get some nice tails. Dust with black pepper and garlic powder. Tony Chacerie. Two bags of shrimp boil in the yellow/ red box per 5 gallons water. Let 'er rip. Lol, don't let the little man have many.

I always leave the shell on, personal prefernce.
      1. Plenty of seasoning, Zatarains, crab boil, orwhatever, lemons, onions, etc. boil water, put shrimp in, let them come to a boil again and by that time they should be pinkish. Maybe a few minutes more, but be careful as thet are easy toovercook.
      2. Jumbos are for grilling and a bit tough for boiling. IMO
      3. Deveined takes too much time unless you have some ladies present and they dont like veins. you can always do it as you are eating them.

      4. Depends on how much beer/time you have. in other words, i have no clue...

I never boil shrimp without the shell, in fact I usually leave the head on too. Without the shell they get rubbery easily, and without the head and shell you lose a lot of flavor. Think about it, do you remove the head and shell when you boil crawfish??
Try shrimp Manale's sometime with some crusty bread. This is the best! http://www.wwoz.org/new-orleans-comm...arbeque-shrimp

Pound per person, if head on. Half a pound per person, head off.
I used Coach's recipe last weekend on 4.5 pounds. It was marvelous.

My lady's don't demand deveining . CRIMINY , deviening is for Yankees and princesses . Jumbo shrimp with the heads on . More flavor like crawfish . In fact , my wife insists heads on so she can suck the heads like she does crawfish .

I remember when my aunt and uncle used to have us come to Louisiana for shrimp boils way back in the day... they'd dump out 40lbs on a table with potatoes and corn,... all in the 24 range. those were the days.

See if you can get some fresh head on Shrimp from the shrimpers or a seafood market near kemah. they're the best. A pound is an appetizer... but that is a good place to start.
