Hall Bayou is a very special place for catching a lot of different kinds of fish fresh and salt in the same spot. A lot plays into what you can catch where and when. Salt content in the water is the biggest factor and will decide what types of fish you can catch at any location. I've caught redfish pretty much everywhere I can get my boat on Halls as they are very adaptive but the other fish not so much. There have been time where I've caught trout and flounder over a mile north of 2004 and I've also caught bass within 1/2 a mile of Halls Lake. Mind you that is not the norm but don't be surprised when it happens.
Now I mostly bass fish, so I generally don't go any further south than the old bridge. I've caught most of my bigger bass south of 2004 and at times like grown in Tx said I've caught a very mixed bag using bass baits. Bass, reds, trout and flounder are all feeding on the same types of food in the bayou so when you find something that one will hit then the chances are they will all it the same bait. You can go to my YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/user/bounty764hunter to find my videos and also my blog has a lot of information on fishing the bayous http://bhoadventures.blogspot.com.
