  • 1/15/16 Report

Got out yesterday after two previous trips with very little success. High pressure has hampered fishing lately. All I have been managing to coax into the boat lately were reds.

Yesterday that changed. Started out at 11 and fought a stiff wind the rest of the day. Only had 3 trout until 1:30 and then found their hiding place. Caught 14 by 2:00-all in an area no bigger than my living room. All the fish were in water 4-5' dropping to 9-12' deep at the sharp edge of a channel.

Water was green and 55.8 degrees.

Headed to the boat show this morning to drool over the new boats.

Fished alone so I released everything....sorry no pix. Fish were mostly 16-18" but had 3 at 20-22'.

Missed your call, bro. Had a rough night. Question: inside or outside the gate and what bait?

I got out yesterday too. I knocked out a mixed bag drifting near Confederate. I waded a bunch of the guts around Deer Isle and didn't get nuttin. Someone needs to tell the fish it's winter and they are supposed to be in the guts around Deer Island!
