West bay this Week

Hit the bay Monday afternoon around 1,found plenty of bait and plenty of trout and a few reds mixed in. Fished 3-5ft of water over a mud/shell mixed bottom, Water temp was around 55-57 degrees. Caught most of the trout Monday on chicken on a chain downsouth with 1/16th jighead and a couple on topwater, fish were not on the bottom they were 1-2 ft in the water column, ended up with 18 trout and 3 reds. Friday hit the bay again around 2:30 water temp 52-53 degrees and the fish were deeper and on the bottom, fished a 1/8 jighead with chicken on a chain downsouth 5-6 ft of water and found em around 5,caught fish consistently ate until dark and were hitting hard, ended up with 24 trout 16"-24" up to 4.5 lbs.
