  • Wet wading.

I have been gone for the last two weeks and haven't run my boat. Is anyone wet wading West Galveston bay?

The water temp is 70 +- which is too damn cold to wet wade. I wondered when it was going to come up, as it seems to be some sort of badge of significance for a certain type. They'll say "yeah I've been wet wading all winter".

Last time the twins hit 70 deg water temp. I swallowed a fresh pinch of Copenhagen.

I wet waded for the first time Tuesday afternoon. Don't think I am ready to do it on a morning trip yet, but its getting very close.

                    LMAO

I find that in the spring, if you have a warm still sunny day and you are wading knee deep or less than 'twins' deep then it might be ok. But if it's cloudy, windy, cool, foggy, drizzly, or even sunny cool and or breezy it's just way more comfortable to wear them.

                    I'm still in mine.

Waded last Monday, water seemed warm enough down on the lower South shore flat, but wind blowing would've made it a LITTLE shrively!
70 isn't bad if the suns out and a warm day

Water temp was 75 at the pass yesterday afternoon...if you are walking in that's not bad for wet wading...if you have a boat ride back to the dock it gets a little chilly...

Probably could wet wade if ya wanted to. I will keep the waders on a little longer just to be comfortable. Not to mention the boat ride being wet, could be pretty chilly.
