  • DF 140 Suzuki Oil Pressure Issue (Advice)

    Brew Crew
So I had a little issue with the boat last year as I had a small bit of corrosion in my under console wire harness. My buddies at FCJ found and fixed it right up. Then just about a month ago the boat was doing the same thing. I would get a oil light alarm with a rev limit alarm at certain RPMs and Time. Pretty much the same issue as last time. So back to FCJ I go. Did a little research on my own and Im getting more feed back that its more than likely the oil pressure sensor which is about a 20$ piece to replace, possibly an ECM but not likely, then the BIG ONE the oil pump is going out. The Suzuki Forum says that the oil pump failing is pretty rare but does happen when people do not do their maintenances and basically abuse their boats. Not the case with me as my engine looks as good as the day I bought it. Highly maintained as I fish twice as much as anyone I know and most guides. Has any Suzuki owners run into this issue in the past? What where your symptoms. Let me know because the difference in the cost swings from 20$-3000$ or more.

Suzuki's are notorious for bad gauges as well. We have changed out several doing the same thing and it was the gauge with engine alarm lights at bottom.

Got the good news today. It was the sensor. Back on the water this weekend.
