Fish the surf if the water has some green/blue color and the waves are about a foot high . Doesn't happen often enough . The bay side is where you will probably end up . You know you walk out into the water to fish . Wear hard sole boots or reef boots / booties . Move slow keeping your feet in contact with the bottom . The idea is to not step on a stingray .

Don't get in the water at San Luis Pass . Strong currents claim lives every year . A teenager last week drowned there . Stay in the bay .

If the wind lays hit the beach if you can. The piers arn't a bad option as well at night.

The cove behind the Galveston Island State Park can also be wade-able.

If you are in the bay, make sure to shuffle your feet while wading. Stingrays are on the bottom and will normally move if you touch them.
