Caught in West bay area or another state?
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. This was caught in Chocolate Bay..really? I knew they could be caught in the surf side but never heard of them caught in the bay system. Have you caught them before here?

No. I hooked 2 way bigger than this in the Bayou about 10 years ago.

I hooked an over 5' under the causeway and seen another chasing bait in Dickinson bay-many years ago.

They're around for sure. I've caught 2 in Titlum-Tatlum in the last 10 years. I also hooked one just offshore between the rivers, but that was a joke. It was huge. I had a trout rod. One jump and gone.

They are definatley hard to keep pinned down on treble hooks. The bite window for these fish was only about a hour(If was lucky) before the sun gets up over the horizon. The 1st day I hooked one, it was about twice the size of this one.

Great catch. I caught one about that size in the marsh on the LA side of Sabine a few years back.

This area has always had tarpon, and juveniles are in the rivers and bays.
About 15 years ago I was fishing Caranchua Reef at dawn and at low tide. I looked ahead and saw something big cruising toward me along the East side of the reef. As it got closer I could see the chrome back and dorsal of a very big Tarpon. I made a couple of casts but it just swam right by.
