  • Sunday in the Marsh

Walker's recent report inspired me to go looking for reds in the marsh...so I pushed from the dock around 6:30a Sunday to a NE breeze and a little higher than normal tide.

I fished a few different marsh drains thinking I'd find some reds or flounder...but only managed 3 keeper specks. Largest one going a little over 19". Caught a couple reds as well but nothing in the slot.

Tide was incoming, wind NE gusting to around 10mph, water was in good shape. 1/8oz jig with a Chicken Boy psycho chicken shad...chicken on a chain.

Pan seared the specks last night. Good stuff!

It looked like quite a few people took advantage of the slightly cooler temps. There were 7 boats in the same general area I was fishing. I ran around the bay a little after I was done and saw that the north shore and south shore were pretty packed as well.
