WINNERS ONCE AGAIN!
TEXAS OUTDOORS JOURNAL & TEXAS OUTDOOR NEWS
TEXAS OUTDOORS JOURNAL & TEXAS OUTDOOR NEWS
Texas Outdoors Journal and Texas Outdoor News Radio continued their winning streak of awards at the 2010 Texas Outdoor Writers Association Annual Conference. The conference annually honors the best in Texas print and broadcast journalism.
Texas Outdoors Journal added another win to its unprecedented 11 consecutive years in the highly competitive category, Outdoor Publication – over 25,000 circulation. No other publication can claim a similar period of sustained excellence.
Texas Outdoors Journal’s October 2009 issue was especially honored. The judges stated, “The Annual Statewide Hunting Forecast issue by Texas Outdoors Journal is laden with interesting features and updates on game laws, hunting and fishing techniques and excellent photography and layout…
“This was a very competitive category. Many winners here, but we must rank them.” When the ranking was complete Texas Outdoors Journal was awarded First Place as the Best In Texas.
TOJ’s Publisher/Editor, Bill L. Olson, and his broadcast partner, Harold Gunn, were once again announced as First Place winners in the equally competitive Outdoor Radio category. For more than 17 years Olson and Gunn have been an award winning on-air team hosting their syndicated Texas Outdoor News. The duo is the longest running outdoor radio broadcast team in the country.
T.O.W.A. judges First Place critique was similar to last year’s comments:
“…Bill Olson and Harold Gunn may be among the best ever. Their show, Texas Outdoor News, has lots of friendly banter and plenty of useful (key term useful) news and information about enjoying the outdoors in this great state.”
To loyal readers and listeners we thank you for your readership and tuning in. It is you we strive to enlighten, as well as entertain about the great outdoors.
To our advertisers, we say thanks for your continued support. We are pleased to be able to provide you with the very best one-two combination of outdoor print and broadcast in the business. And we are not through yet!
Founded in 1992, Texas Outdoors Journal is distributed statewide across Texas. Year round fishing, hunting, outdoor travel, and forecasts are covered in every monthly issue, 12 times each year.
Texas Outdoor News radio was founded in 1993. Its outdoor news and information format is not your typical “call the bait camp” type show. Weekly guests include outdoor experts from the industry and the field, political leaders, manufacturers, guides and outfitters.
