  • 3D Archery Shoot

Me, the wife, and kids went hand had a FANTASTIC day shooting a 3D archery shoot at Banana Bend club in Baytown today. The kids did really good for their first time out. My daughter got 1st place in her division and my son got 3rd in his. We aren't going to talk about how me and the wife did! LOL! Had a great time. If there are any archery buffs out there reading this, there will be another 3D shoot next Sunday out at the Brazoria County Bowmans (Greenwood Gun Club). Come on out, its a blast! If you have any questions about it, shoot me a PM and I'll fill you in. Take care

I haven't shot a bow and arrow since I was a kid. Got into a lot of trouble for loosing an arrow in my best friends room. Sucker went through the wall and stuck in his parent's headboard. That was my first lesson in how fragile drywall can be. Luckily nobody was there. We got the arrow out, but there was an obvious mark on the headboard, not to mention the hole straight through the wall, so someone had to fess up. It was a looooong walk to the kitchen to tell his mom what I had done. I got a good butt whippin' for that one. Since then I've had no interest in the bow.

3D shoots are a blast, especially with kids. Congrats to your son and daughter! I like the 3D popup shoots best, but there aren't many of them around. Next weekend is the Chester Stickbow shoot up in Chester, Tx. that I was going to attend, but had to change my plans as my wife has to go out of town unexpectedly and I have take care of her horses. So I might have to think about coming down and shooting Brazoria.

BTW are you a member of the Lone Star Bowhunters Association?????

Then, there was the time I shot low into a hay bale backstop and the field point penetrated into a wooden mount in the ground. I pulled really hard on the shaft and it popped out. (Un)fortunately, the nock and a bit of the shaft found their way into my thigh.

AND, don't shoot target practice, with a BB gun, with the basement block wall as a backstop. It leaves an impression on your forehead. Didn't need a butt whippin for that.

No, I'm not. Just trying to move around and make a few shoots with the family. We aren't good enough to compete very seriously with most of those folks from what I've been told. Come on down. In fact, the LSBA shoot is this weekend at BCB.

You don't have to complete to be a member of LSBA. We have a forum with a lot of great information about shooting and bowhunting so come on over and check it out.

I'm bountyhunter over there as well.
