  • Boat Trailer Repair

One of the axels busted right at the hub on the Whaler trailer? It happened about 100 yds from the house and I managed to get it into the driveway on three wheels.

Is there anyone that does boat trailer axel replacements onsite? The boat and trailer are in Jamaica Beach.

I'll check and see if someone can do it for you. The boat's at the house so they can go by and look and give you a price. You want me to relay the info or just give them your number?
Captain Glen may have a recommendation too.

I spoke with the guy who used to work out of Sea Isle...pretty sure he mentioned he did trailer repair...if someone can remember that guy's name he could at minimum give you the name of someone...hope that helps...

Either way works. It's an old trailer, so two new axels, hubs, and leafs are probably in order.

If it's an aluminum trailer, go with trosion axles.

Galvanized Trailer. The boat sits in a lift 360 days a year so all the trailer needs to do is get the boat to the shop once a year for maintenance, and up to Houston during a Hurricane.

Don't want to spend a lot. Just want it to roll reliably when I need it.

It doesn't look hard. I just don't have the time right now.

                      Got an hour?

You can always chain your axle up & tie it up off the pavement so it doesn't drag and limp it to McClain?
