Diversionary digging

Anybody know what they are up to at the diversionary canal? Why all the digging along there?

All that stuff is left over from harborwalk construction. Not sure what they were doing. Probably needed fill for the lots and roadways.

My boss has a house out there and said that Harborwalk made an agreement with the Corps to expand the diversionary canal and plant so many square feet of seagrass to replace the same amount of seagrass that was lost when they developed the canals for the homeowners.

This is second-hand info that was given to me after I had consumed several Dos Equi's, but I deem it to be fairly accurate. If you look at the edges of the canal on the Harborwalk side you can see many rows of freshly planted grass in the new mud.
