EXCELLENT !! How much did the football shaped one weigh ? It must have had a huge mullet in it's stomach !!

Henry that football fish was better than 8 1/2 lbs. I'm not sure what she had in her, I let her go after the picture was taken. All the fish in those pictures were released back in good health. As you can see I'm catching a lot of trouphy trout fishing from the boat. Stealth is a must when trying this in knee deep water as well as super long cast.....Hint ....(Calis DC) to get the extra distance needed to keep from spooking the fish. Also you cannot hang your Corky on bottom or you lose your bait or spook the fish, 8 dollars or the fishings over...Take your pick...so it takes a lot of practice to find that perfect zone of about 8-10 inches of fishing room between hung up and to high in the water colum to be effective. Danny go his all on topwaters fished real slow.

Danny got his all on topwaters fished real slow. You can get a topwater bite sometime if the water temps are above 56 degree's to me that seems to be the cutting off mark for a topwater bite on big trout. When fishing a topwater in water temps around 58-62 degree's I'm fishing in a zone about the size of the hood on your truck for extended minutes sometimes as much as 10 minutes without reeling the bait.Just walking the dog in one spot and letting it sit for 3-4 minutes then walking the dog again but never reeling the bait in keeping it in one spot the entire 10 minutes. Most fishermen throw a bait out and want to reel it back in.If I'm throwing a topwater in cold water for big trout I'll cast out on structure and let that bait for 10 minutes on that structer, keeping that bait right in her kitchen till she decides to slap it with the side of her head to kill it, I can catch big fish that way even if there not feeding. They are territoral and will not tolerate a mullet lollygaging around her hunk of shell, sometimes she will spook and move away, but in cold water they are more prone to staying put on there related structer and will agressively defend it.Hope this sheds some light on my thought process and tactics for targeting my favorite species...Trouphy Trout. I got plenty more.....?????
