Has anyone seen or read this, "The Prostitutes of Post Office Street"? Also I read a book called, The Silent Storm that was about a young girl living on the west end during the 1900 storm. It was a decent read.

Not that much different than a Karankawa indian hunting the shallows at night with a torch and a spear.

Not a storm related book but a great one for Texas Coastal Fishermen is "Plugger" by Rudy Grigar. It depicts how wade fishing was back in the day, it has stories from Lower Laguna to the Land Cut to West Bay, to the chandelier islands.

Another good one if you like WWII is The Terrible Hours by Peters Haas about a WWII sub that goes down in 80' of water during a training run. They pulled the men out alive but its about how they were able to do it. First submarine rescue of its time.
