Over this weekend I lost a Curado 50 and a Castaway rod. I actually didn't lose the rod but it was a 'seasoned' fishing buddy who lost it.
I say seasoned because I was told prior to him coming on the boat that he'd fished for years and was almost a fish himself. So loaning this gear was not a big deal in my eyes.
If you catch a large fish in the Eagle Point area that has a hook in it's mouth and is attached to a Castaway Rod which has a Curado 50 on it that's mine!! The fish would more than likely be either a big Red or a large hardhead as that's what we were pulling in at the time.
My 'seasoned' fishing buddy sat the rod down in the boat without securing it and left the baited line out. It took him about 20 seconds to grab a fresh beer and put it in the koozie when all of a sudden out of the corner of my eye I saw a flash and then heard a plop. This flash and plop just so happened to be my $200 worth of gear(not to mention the Boca Bearings) swimming away at an extremely fast rate.
So if you catch that fish please let me have my rod and reel back!
