"The Pearl" by John Steinbeck is a good short read if you can find it. Not about fishing but a good sea side related story all the same.

Another good read is "The Silent Storm"...a true story about a little girl living on the west end with her family in the 1900 Galveston Hurricain.

Not an angling book but it's still a great read.

              Really,
Let's talk. I'm interested in hard backs.
Coach Law has at least 2 good historical reads too but they are paper backs and not worth stealing although one would be probably hard pressed in finding the same copys he owns. LOL J/K Sandy.

Check out the out-of-print "No-Nonsense Guide to Coastal Fishing" by Pat Murray.
At his baptism, Sam Houston was told his sins were washed away. He reportedly replied, “I pity the fish downstream.” - Nov. 19, 1854 - Independence, Texas

I have seen a couple of different authors for scientific angler books. Which is the author of the book you are referring to?
