  • Sea Isle Shark Tank

Got a nice little treat last Sunday at Sea Isle. I was fishing the cove by the geotubes back towards the NE from the pier...only about 3 feet of water. I grinded it out ALL friggin day for one slot red and a pretty nice flatty. I was about to paddle back to the truck when WHAM!! It felt like someone hit the kayak with a truck from the passenger side and jerked me around 90 degrees. I saw the stringer (tied to the kayak) go tight then limp in a second....see pic for what was left.

I never got a look at him, but he had to have been a hoss to pull my big @$$ around like that and bite both fish in two in one charge. He'd have to be 5-6 ft.+ to do that, yeah? I was spooked, then mad....if he'd have done it 4 hrs earlier, I would have split and had a cold beer in my hand in the A/C!!!

I flipped on the light on 7.12.13. Jonathan had just gone inside to rig up his fishing pole and I spotted what I thought was a gar, as it rose in the water column I saw the dorsal fin and knew it was a shark a little over 4' maybe 5'.

Lovely, I was swimming in there just a week before.

Last summer I had one in that same area blow up on a top water while I was wading then start following the topwater back to me. It was right at sun up. I was leery to go deeper for quite a while.

              That's why I don't wade fish.

Did you still get a meal out of the fish? It looks like there's enough left for lunch.

Enough of lunch? Those fish don't look big enough to keep now.

Yes sir I might see you around on Friday, we might head down Friday morning... We decided not to fish the tournament because of questionable weather and just flat out unsuccessful pre fishing. Thanks!
