I had a big Bull shark (approx. 10" dorsal) come across the flat I was wading at dusk. It came straight toward me in thigh deep water. I kept thinking it would turn back toward the grass line but it didn't. When it was about 15 feet away, still coming straight at me, I fired a Shedog right at the sumbitch. It spooked, blew up and made a hard left toward deeper water.
It's funny but if I am waist deep water or deeper they kinda freak me out!

X2. Donna and I were wading a south shoreline cove a few years ago during one of the first FWE tourney's when a 5-6 ft. bull came up about 20 yards from us. It spooked Donna really bad and she did not want to wade anymore, but I took her back to the same spot the next day and she is OK. Another reason I DO NOT tie a stringer to my wading belt.

You lads are spooking me with the bull references. This may be a dumb question, but do you actually mean a bull shark would be in the cove?

Yes, there are bull sharks in all the coves in west bay.

I'll be dipped in sh**!! That's crazy. Could have gone my whole life w/o knowing that! Ha ha. No more stringers for me.

We've had several pretty big sharks swimming around our neighborhood at night over the past couple months. Some stretch all the way from shadow to shadow around our underwater lights! One of our neighbors caught one that looks like it's somewhere in the 5-6' range. Also have seen a few gars in the 8'+ range.

Does it seem like we're having more shark activity right now than usual?

That would be awesome to see in the lights, not sure I would want to hook up though. I have not see any in our lights, but that might be because I am snoozing at 10:00PM.

Yeah usually in the summer the sharks get pretty thick in the bays. We had about a 6-7 footer circle our boat out by some geotubes by snake island. We also usually see about a 6-8 foot gar while night fishing and sometimes he will come up and ram the kayak.
