Starting to Find some Fish

First Bull Red

Snagged my first Bull Red Saturday evening near the San Luis Pas Bridge. Captain Eddog2 and I were setting up for some night shark fishing when the Bull Red hit a double drop with fresh dead shrimp. Was trying for whiting for shark bait at the time. After a 20 minute tussle on a 6 ft rod and 12 lb line got it in the boat. Captain Eddog2 also landed a 4 foot Black Tip shortly after that. Good trip on a beautiful evening. Navigating the San Luis Pas channels at night on the way back to Sea Isle was very interesting to a Greenhorn like me but Captain Eddog 2 did a great job using our GPS track and a reasonable speed.

Fishing Pier, Geotubes and Bird Island

Have picked up a couple keepers fishing the SI Pier and the Snake Island Geotubes. Enough for some good dinners. Also many Rat Reds, small Black Drum and as many Hardheads as you would care to reel in plus many Gafftops.
Lots of fun.
