Saw a manatee in at SLP and Cold Pass over a year ago. Also saw an otter in the same place, near the mouth of Titlum-Tatlum. Strangest thing I ever saw fishing though, was when I was fighting a red and he came up on a sandbar. A big buck coon ran out of the marsh, grabbed my redfish and took off with it. Also I was sitting on a friend's porch at a camp in Bayou Cook, La. My dad and I witnessed dolphins playing frisbee with about a 5lb sheepshead. No kidding. They were tossing it back and forth. I've seen stranger stuff, but not while fishing.
From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

While wading the Sievers shoreline years ago I saw a mountain lion and cub strolling the top of the island. The terrain has changed quite a bit since then, but it was a cool site.
The wife and I were near the floodgate and some guy comes running to tell us he just spotted a gar and wanted to wade out to it and have us take a picture for him. Well, that thing was about 7' long and it wasn't a gar! He kept insisting that it was, so I told him to go ahead and wade out to it but leave me someones number to call if he didn't return. He said a few choice words and went on about his life.
One of the funniest things was my mom's face after I went overboard. The little skiff I owned at the time was very unstable and when she stood up to walk around.....over the bow I go! It was in December and we were flounder fishing. The look of "I'm Sorry?" still cracks me up!!!

I was fishing a back bayou when I heard a loud splash, looked over my shoulder & saw something in the water swimming across the bayou, as it got closer I could see the antlers of a big buck, he swam within 20 feet of my boat, got to the other side & took off.
            Today is a new day!!

I've seen an otter while fishing the surf, a sea turtle in our canal, and there's a 5' gar that likes to pop up in our canal every now and then.

A coyote swimming a bayou up in Titlum Tatlum. Also a fawn in the shallows on St Joe's at Aransas. Also an otter in Tabbs Bays in the '80's at the Chevron dock.

i saw a porn being filmed in the back of a yacht going down the intercoastal when i lived in fl.
the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.

I heard about a week later there was a sighting at cold pass! To this day I don't know what happened to that manatee or where she came from. (if she came from Florida, that's a helluva trip...)
Now that is a strange sighting

At a wedding in Clear Lake area on one of the big party boats, we were standing on the rail of the open 2nd deck/dancefloor. The priest/minister begins the part of the ceremony where they say the "I dos", when a huge gofast boat comes astride our ship, honks their horn and two very voluptuous girls show their "wares." I tried not to look, but it was too late.

edit - I wonder if that would be considered "good luck" on your wedding day like it raining or a rainbow or some gay dolphins swimming next to the boat?
